Notifications and your profile
The notification bell, preferences, and account settings.

Every role in Workrize shares the same account controls: a notification bell and an account menu. Staff and client users find them in the top bar, on the right; candidates find them at the bottom of the sidebar.
Notifications
Workrize notifies you in-app when something relevant to you changes — for example, when an application you are involved in moves forward.
- The Notifications bell sits in the top bar, on the right (for candidates, at the bottom of the sidebar).
- A badge on the bell shows your unread count. Counts above nine display as 9+.
- To open your notifications, select the bell. The notification list opens in a panel under it.
- New notifications arrive in real time — you do not need to refresh the page.
- When someone moves several applications to a new status at once, admins and referrers get one summary — for example, "12 applications moved to Interviewed / Feedback awaited" — instead of one notification and email per application. Select View applications to open the applications list filtered to that status. Each candidate still hears about their own application.
- When someone else refers your candidate, you get a notification in the app — for example, when your line manager or an admin refers a candidate whose lead you own. It names the candidate, the vacancy and who referred them; select View application to open it. Several referrals within a few minutes arrive as one notification that lists them. This notice is in the app only: there is no email for it. You are not notified about referrals you make yourself, and the candidate is not told about a referral made on their behalf. Admins see every new referral in the Approval queue instead.
Your account menu
Your account menu is the round button with your initials at the right end of the top bar (for candidates, at the very bottom of the sidebar). It opens with your name in bold and your role underneath, then Profile Settings, and Sign out at the bottom in red.
To manage your account, select it to open the menu. From here you can access your account settings and sign out.
Your profile
What lives in your profile depends on your role:
- Candidates maintain a full profile with personal details and a CV. See Complete your profile.
- All other roles manage basic account details — name, email, and password — through the account menu.
Sign out
To sign out, open the account menu (your initials in the top bar, or the bottom of the sidebar for candidates) and select Sign out. You return to the sign-in screen for your role.
