Activity log
See who changed what, search the log, and filter it by user, event, subject and date.
Last updated: 30 September 2026
The Activity log records the changes people make in Workrize: which record changed, what kind of change it was, who made it, and when. Use it to answer "who changed this, and when?"
Open the log
Select Activity in the sidebar. The page is called System Activity. Only admins see it.
Each entry is one change that went through. An attempt that was refused, for example with Access Denied, is not recorded.
Pick what to look at
The menu at the top left decides which kind of record the page shows:
| Option | Shows changes to |
|---|---|
| All | every kind of record |
| Candidate | candidates only |
| Candidate tagging | candidate tags: tags being created, edited or deleted, and tags added to or removed from candidates |
| User | user accounts |
| Job | vacancies |
| Application | applications |
| Remark | remarks |
| Question | questions |
Each option shows only its own kind of change. Tag changes appear under Candidate tagging, not under Candidate. See Candidate tags.
Some options add a row of extra filters above the list.
Timeline and Table
The switch at the top right changes the view:
- Timeline lists the changes as a feed. Select Load More Activity at the bottom to see older ones.
- Table shows one change per row, with a search box, column filters and a count of the matching changes.
Search the table
In the Table view, type in the search box. It looks at the type of record (such as Job or Candidate), the record's id, and the name and email of the person who made the change. The table and the count narrow to the matches. The search works together with the option you picked at the top.
Filter the table
Each column heading in the Table view has a filter icon:
- User: type part of a person's name.
- Event: pick create, update or delete.
- Subject: pick one or more kinds of record. It lists only the subjects of the option you picked at the top, so it narrows within that option.
- Date & Time: pick a day, or a range of days. A range includes the whole of its last day, and a single day shows that whole day.
Filters work together, and with the search box and the option at the top. Clear filters removes them all.
